Motorists travelling on the N3 Toll Route this long weekend are being urged to plan ahead as traffic volumes are expected to increase from Friday afternoon. Drivers should also expect delays through construction zones between Estcourt and Nottingham Road.
Motorists using the N3 Toll Route this long weekend have been urged to plan their trips carefully.
Authorities say it's going to be busy on the roads with travellers making their way to different spots around KZN.
The N3 Toll Concession says it expects traffic volumes to pick up from midday on Friday.
Road users are being warned to expect delays through construction zones, particularly between Estcourt and Nottingham Road, where lane restrictions remain in place.
Motorists warned of icy conditions
Motorists are also being advised to prepare for rapidly changing weather conditions, including heavy mist, rain, freezing temperatures and possible black ice, especially in high-lying areas.
The South African Weather Service has issued an advisory for very cold and windy conditions over KZN's interior on Monday, when return traffic is expected to peak.
