The trial has been postponed to October and will continue into the first week of November to allow the State to prepare and provide transcripts.
The Durban High Court has heard that the state intends to call two more witnesses in the July 2021 unrest trial against Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla.
The former MK Party MP is facing terrorism-related charges for her alleged involvement in stoking the violence in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng in July 2021 that claimed over 300 lives.
The State believes her social media posts fuelled the riots.
The trial, which began last year, has now been postponed to October and will run into the first week of November.
This is to allow the state to prepare its new witnesses and to make transcripts available to the defence.
Zuma-Sambudla, who has since been expelled from the MK Party, appeared calm in the dock on Thursday as reporters asked her if she would take the stand in her own defence.
“Perhaps I will. Yeah, 100%. I think I just want to be done to be very honest,” she said.
Zuma Sambudla’s lawyer, Dali Mpofu has previously told the court that the case is politically motivated and being used to settle scores with her father, former president Jacob Zuma.
