Leon Schuster appeared in good spirits and good health after meeting with Gayton McKenzie in a video posted on social media.
The South African comedian – who has experienced a series of health setbacks in recent years – has teased a film comeback.
He’s also released a Springbok-inspired song ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
LEON SCHUSTER MEETS WITH GAYTON MCKENZIE
On his social media platforms, Gayton McKenzie posted a video clip of him chatting to Leon Schuster and Alfred Ntombela.
The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture and the comedy actors appeared in good spirits, laughing and joking about rugby and the Springboks’ latest jersey.
Gayton shared: “It was such a privilege and a joy to spend time with the legends. They both gave us so much over careers that made everyone happy and feel uniquely South African”.
The minister added that both Leon and Alfred would be honoured with a special award later this month.
In recent years, Leon Schuster has suffered a series of health setbacks that have limited his mobility and left him with chronic pain. He has also spoken out about living with depression and loneliness.
However, the veteran entertainer – known for his iconic films like You Must Be Joking, Oh Schucks, I’m Gatvol, and Mr Bones, among many others. – has hinted that a comeback is on the cards.
In May, Leon teased a new project with fellow comedian Kevin Fraser. Last month, he surprised his fans after releasing another rugby-inspired song, titled Miljoene Hande vir Rassie, in honour of Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus.
Leon also recently celebrated his 75th birthday in good spirits while surrounded by loved ones.
