DStv subscribers will lose another four channels next month as MultiChoice continues reshaping its television line-up to reflect changing viewing habits.
MultiChoice SA LicenceCo has confirmed that the four channels will stop broadcasting at 23:59 on 16 September 2026.
The company said programming from the discontinued channels will continue to be available elsewhere on the DStv platform.
Which channels are being removed?
The following channels will be discontinued:
According to Mybroadband, MultiChoice said the move forms part of an ongoing review of its channel portfolio.
The company said that instead of spreading similar content across numerous channels, it is focusing on fewer, stronger channels to create a simpler and easier-to-navigate viewing experience.
Eleven channels gone this year
With these latest closures, DStv will have removed 11 channels from its platform during 2026.
Earlier this year, BET Africa, CBS Reality, CBS Justice and MTV Base were discontinued after Paramount shut down its linear television operations in Africa.
The broadcaster also removed tlnovelas in January, then replacing it with Novelas+ in July.
Despite the reductions, some subscribers have also gained access to additional content. DStv Access customers, for example, received WWE, Trace Gospel and Trace Ngoma as part of the platform’s channel updates.
MultiChoice said it will continue reviewing and refining its channel offering as audience viewing habits evolve.
