The Democratic Alliance has called on all eligible voters who have not yet registered for this year's municipal elections to do so with the Electoral Commission.
The IEC's voters' roll for the 2026 Local Government Elections will close at midnight on Friday, after the election date has been proclaimed by the Minister of Cooperative Governance Velenkosini Hlabisa.
Meanwhile, the party said it's all systems go for its manifesto launch rally, which will take place on Saturday at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg.
The launch is expected to draw thousands of supporters.
DA National Campaign Manager Ashor Sarupen briefed the media in Johannesburg on Thursday.
"The voters' roll will close at midnight, and if you're not registered, the IEC will not let you vote in November. It's as simple as that. Register now, or lose your vote in November," he said.
"I would hate for voters to wake up on 4 November only to discover that they had missed the opportunity to vote."
Attendees can expect to hear addresses from the DA's national leadership, including party leader Geordin Hill-Lewis, as well as mayoral candidates for Johannesburg, Hellen Zille; Tshwane, Cilliers Brink; and Ekurhuleni, Khathutshelo Rasilingwane.
The speakers are expected to outline their vision and priorities for the three key metropolitan municipalities should they win at the polls.
"The manifesto launch is the moment when we will share with the country our contract with the people for local government. This event is therefore not just a launch; it is the publication of a promise to all South Africans," Sarupen added.
